PSLV launch successful, 5 satellites placed in orbit

In its 16th successive, successful mission, the Polar Satellite Launch
Vehicle placed five satellites into the predestined orbit after a precision
launch on Monday, a feat that elated the space community as it came after
the failure of last launch.

The payloads included the latest remote sensing satellite CARTOSAT 2B,
a nanosatellite fabricated by students of a consortium of private engineering
colleges in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, ALSAT-2A of Algeria, AISSAT-1
of Canada and TISAT of Switzerland.

FO-29 solar 7-14-102010年07月16日 06時34分

Re: FO-29 solar 7-14-10

Enclosed is a new graph of FO-29 solar array current showing the now familiar
sudden jump in current. I have only two ideas for what causes this. First,
it may indicate a dead area in one of the solar panels. Second, there may be
some unusual solar illumination, where the sun is illuminating an area where
there is no solar panel such as the bottom attach fitting. Idid not see this
type of pattern a year ago, so something has changed. I would be very
interested in hearing what you or other users in the satellite community
think about the subject.

Thank you for your interest in sharing these results with others who are
interested in FO-29.

Decoding table for TIsat-1 early beacon messages
During the early days of TIsat-1 mission, the beacon send continuously
during the day the message "HI HI HI TISAT" followed by a Morse character
indicating the temperature of the transmitter. The beacon is turned off
during eclipse to avoid stress of the batteries. This message is repeated
each 15s and is encoded with 17 WPM. The radio used as beacon has been
developped completely in SUPSI with the help of local HAMs.
The following table allows to translate the last character of the message
into the relative temperature expressed in Celsius degrees.

  Temperature Morse character
  -10 F
  -5 B
  0 K
  +5 R
  +10 H
  +15 N
  +20 T
  +25 E
  +30 I
  +35 S
  +40 A
  +45 D
  +50 M
  +55 U
  +60 5
  +65 L

We invite to keep note of the received messages and temperatures.
A Web application to upload these information will be soon available.
